The whole process was very efficient and pain free when my cataract was removed. No needles involved !

I’d just like to start by saying I had been delaying an inevitable surgery on my eyes called Crosslinking for a couple of years through fear of (or lack of) aftercare. I initially met Mr Panthagani through Hinchingbrooke Hospital and found his private practice online following such a positive experience.. Understanding of my apprehension Mr Panthagani rang me and discussed the process in depth answering my particularly obscure questions with patience and showed a lot of compassion. His quiet confidence really put me at ease and I felt he was really looking at what would be best for my specific circumstances/eye disease. I’ve seen a few Opthalmic Consultants over the years and I really feel a select few were of such patient focused care. Throughout the procedure I felt really calm, each step explained (as per my preference) and patient care exceeded expectation. From point of enquiry right through into aftercare. My experience of having both cataracts treated by Jesse Panthagani has been very positive. JP is warm, friendly and reassuring, and professional. Due to my short-sightedness and astigmatism, he recommended a specific lens, which has worked well: my vision today is better than it has ever been (I started wearing glasses at about age 4, so tbh I can't remember how good or bad it was then!), but the post-op improvement has been amazing. Having had cataract surgery a week ago I am very happy with the result. My vision is so much better. It is miraculous. Mr Panthagani carried out an operation on my right eye on 20th March. The operation was carried out to replace the lense. This was very successful. As a result I had my left eye operated on , 23rd April. One week later I have been informed by Mr Panthagani both eyes are healing well so goodbye glasses!!! I had a caterac removed from both of my eyes, the right eye on 11/12/24 followed by ny right eye on 20/3/25. On each occasion I was treated with respect, empathy and politeness from the moment I arrived until I left. The nursing staff were friendly, helpful and informative and put me at ease in what was a uncertain situation. The procedure was explained to me in ' non' medical terms and all my questions were answered in language that I understood by Mr Panthagani who spoke to me as I waited for the initial anaesthetic to do it's work. Both procedures which were carried out by Mr J Panthagani went very well and again, i was talked through everything as the procedure took place with both taking approximately 20 mins I left the operating theatre with a clear perspect eye covering in a wheelchair ( safety protocol ) and taken back to the waiting room. I was provided with tea and biscuits and Mr Panthagani came to ask how I felt( did I have pain I my eye/headache) of which i had none. A nurse arrived to go through my after care( eye drops/ hand cleaning/ washing and drying of the eye patch which I had to wear for 10 nights; the possible need for sunglasses and the need not to get tap water in my eye or to bend down) I was given my eye drops and a comprehensive information pack. A member of staff telephoned my family to arrange for me to be picked up. Initiali was anxious about this procedure but thanks to all the staff my fears were unfounded A nurse rang me on both occasions to make sure I was not having any problems and Mr Panthagani rang me on 1/4/25 to make sure all is well So after 54 years of wearing glasses, I now see the world in a brighter light thanks to the surgeons skill , and experience & knowledge of the nursing staff. I was understandably nervous upon arriving at Glendon Wood for my eye procedure. I wanted to follow up on my Feb 2025 Cataract surgery with feedback for consultant Ophthalmologist Mr Jesse Panthagani and his team at the Ramsay Glendon Wood hospital. After researching various private hospitals and local Ophthalmology consultants, I was impressed by Mr Panthagani’s experiences, patient reviews and qualifications so went ahead and contacted my insurance provider Aviva and they arrange an initial consultation. From start to finish the Ramsay Glendon Wood facilities and its staff were excellent and this combined with Jesse’s, expertise and through preparation to my cataract diagnosis this gave me great confidence that the final outcome would be a success. Having had a previous cataract surgery on my left eye some years before and additional complications which needed consideration prior to surgery e.g., I had LASIK and Vitrectomy surgery which Jesse needed to factor in to my new cataract lens prescription. To address these previous challenges Jesse asked me if it was possible to provided previous prescriptions dating back 10y to provide snapshots of my vision before and after these events. I simply contacted my optician and they provided this information. Jesse took time and assessed my vision history, then discussed his findings, the direction and approach he wanted to take for the new lens and cataract surgery. I was happy to take Jesse’s advice, and recommendations. Jesse’s surgical team were top draw and it was clear to me they had all worked together for some time and the procedure went ahead with what can only be described as military precision. After 24 hours of the new lens being fitted my vision was already excellent and after two weeks i am very pleased with the outcome. I had an eye test today and could read the smallest letters on the test chart. The prescription and results we were aiming for and that Jesse had discussed with me two weeks before the operation matched exactly. All that’s left to say is thank you Jesse and the Ramsay Glendon Wood team for what can only be described as excellent care and the final results have exceeded my initial expectations. I had both my cataracts removed by Mr Panthagani at Glendonwood Hospital. The experience which I thought would be a bit harrowing was unfounded. He was very kind and understanding and along with his colleagues did a very professional job with an excellent result. I had no problem with infection afterwards and my eyesight has improved tenfold and now I will only need glasses for close work which at 76 years old is fantastic and I can still drive.
